The Sartorialist may be your favourite source for style inspiration, but it doesn’t hurt to borrow a look from those chic classmates of yours. Boys and girls, take note: think neutral coloured peacoats, military jackets and layer, layer, layer! Fashionistas on campus are taking this look to new levels by stacking jewellery and experimenting with chunky metals, wood and fabric pieces in bold hues. Gentlemen, sport knitted caps and beanies for a lesson in cool weather wear. Ace Fashion 101 with these campus-friendly fashion fixes.

1. Gap Classic Peacoat ($138)

2. Old Navy Women’s Wool- Blend Cropped Military Jacket ($62)

3. Aldo Metal Multi- Coloured Necklace ($15)

4. H&M Knitted Cap with a Wide Ribbed Trim ($13)

Get an early start on your spring wardrobe by choosing pieces that work double duty for winter and spring. While it may seem superfluous to start shopping for sundresses while the mercury barely breaks zero, pretty cardigans, slim pants and silk scarves all work at this time of year. So as long as Mother Nature remains a major tease, put some spring in your step with these transitional pieces that will carry you through to the warm-weather months.

1. Chambray tie neck blouse, $64.95, available at Gap
2. T.Babaton Graydon Trench Coat, $250, available at Aritzia
3. J Brand skinny cargo pants, $255, available at JacFlash
4. McCarthey booties, $59.99, available at Spring
5. Anadyomene Cardigan, $88, available at Anthropologie

Now that spring is officially here, Torontonians have taken to the parks en masse. Wherever your favourite neighbourhood oasis may be, the warm weather means you’ll definitely be spending plenty of time there basking in the sun, playing Frisbee, and maybe even sipping some fine Jackson Triggs from the Wine Rack. Chances are you’ll want to look your best while doing so. Parks in Toronto have become a veritable play and meeting ground for the young, eligible and tanned, and a place for those without a cottage to see and be seen, all while spending some quality time with Mother Nature. Don’t forget the SPF.

Left to right: Aldo Sunglasses ($12). Aldo Sandals ($100). Gap Boyfriend Cutoffs ($55). Gap Slouchy Washed Hobo ($45). Matix Daydreamer Hat ($50) available in Vancouver at Underworld. Joe Fresh Patent Brogues ($59) available at Superstore. Lily & Jae Thelma Dress ($219) available in Vancouver at Riot, Zebra Club, Fine Finds and Aritzia, and in Toronto at Aritzia. Lily & Jae Sway Skirt ($139) available in Vancouver at Riot, Eugene Choo and The Block and in Toronto at Distill.
