Autumn is always bittersweet for me. It means crunchy leaves, gorgeous colours, and luscious fall accessories. But it also means that winter’s evil wrath is nearing closer. Considering the fact that we cannot fight Mother Nature, there is only one thing to do. Forget about our imminent hibernation and instead, embrace everything that is fabulous about this season – including beautifully chic fall gloves! This year, they’re retro, versatile, and oh so fun. Channel your inner bombshell with long lengths and fur-trimmed versions, or keep it casual with short, wrist grazers. Look for luxe textures like cashmere, suede and velvet. You can look posh and stay cozy too.

Here’s a look at our favourite styles:

1. Driving Gloves - The Quilted Driving Gloves by Rag & Bone ($280). Available at Shopbop
2. Fingerless Gloves - 3.1 Phillip Lim long fur gloves ($350) at Shopbop
3. Luscious Leather - Diane Von Furstenberg Alina Leather Gloves ($185) at Shopbop
4. Cozy Chic - Lord & Taylor Cashmere Bow-Embellished Long Gloves ($45)

5. Old Glamour - Diane Von Furstenberg Clarissa Leather Gloves in fuschia and black ($188), at Shopbop

6. Animal Print - Kate Spade Migonette Haircalf Long Bow Gloves ($245)

The term “packing light” may be missing from my vocabulary, but I do know a thing or two about looking sharp with a suitcase. Gone are the days of the black (or tacky patterned) travel bag. Modern luggage is highly versatile, functional and most importantly, stylish. The key is to invest in quality luggage and travel bags in order to properly protect your valued items. Just be sure to give the Beckhams a run for their money by sporting some killer shades at the airport.

2. Why not graduate from your Caboodles and try a sleek and chic cosmetics case? Dooney & Bourke Ostrich Cosmetics Case ($95), available online.

3. Pack up your toiletries in style with Sephora’s Resealable Makeup Bags ($9).

4. A medium size bag is perfect for weekend getaways or carry-on luggage. Try a classic shape with clean lines, like this duffel bag from Rag & Bone ($198), available at Shopbop.

5. Introducing the perfect solution for shoe fanatics: a shoe case to keep your footwear fresh. Jimmy Choo Shoe Case ($2295), at Net-A-Porter.

6, 7. Invest in quality luggage to protect your wardrobe and look stylish. Elena Ghisellini Trolley Luggage ($1472), at Luisa Via Roma and Mulberry Medium Trolley ($1325) at SSense.

Guilty as charged! I’ve been caught red-handed for my crimes—smuggling goodies from my main man’s closet. In my defence, I was hoping to transform a cotton button-down into my new favourite shirtdress. If you’re like me, there’re some days when you just can’t bear the femme frills and all the frou-frou.

Luckily, the menswear inspired look is one fashion style that will always remain a classic. The key to keeping it classy and modern is to base your ensemble on cut and fit: think sharp, tailored and clean lines. The silhouette for Spring is a little more relaxed, so feel free to try a boxy blazer, an oversized tee or slouchy slacks. Just be sure to keep the look balance by contrasting looser fits with body conscious shapes. Try some of these boyish pieces.

Top to bottom:

Gap Roll-Up Bermuda Shorts ($39.50 USD) are comfy and casual cool. Look for bottoms with a relaxed fit to channel your boyish side. Balance the look with a stacked heel.

Classic aviator shades are the ideal accessory to borrow from your boy. The Outdoorsman II by Rayban from Sunglasses Hut ($189.95 USD) echo the clean lines featured in modern menswear.

The Cheap Monday Big Shirt in Blue Denim ($48) is so easy to wear. Try a buttoned-up look with skinny trousers, or wear it open with a tank for warmer spring days.

This unisex travel bag from Roots ($358) is great for short weekend trips or heavy workdays.

The oxford shoe is geek chic! Pair it with this season’s rolled trousers and even your billowy skirts. My faves are the Mimosa Oxfords from Browns Shoes ($298).

If you must choose only one menswear-inspired piece, invest in a well-made blazer. The boxy fit of the Rag & Bone Double Breasted Wool/Linen Blazer ($495 USD) makes for a perfect addition to any outfit.
