<p>This season&#8217;s must-own pant is the harem. Effortlessly chic, comfortable and yes, flattering, it&#8217;s your new go-to piece for whatever occasion.</p>
<p style="padding-top:1.4em;">Look #1. Emily from <strong><a href="http://www.jlmtm.com" target="_blank">JL Model Talent Management</a></strong> is in a perfect weekend look from <strong><a href="http://www.zara.com/" target="_blank">Zara</a></strong>, shoes from <strong><a href="http://www.myspringshoes.com/" target="_blank">Spring</a></strong>.</p>
<p>Look #2. Amy Sky is wearing <strong><a href="http://aritzia.ca" target="_blank">Artizia</a></strong> harems in this season&#8217;s hottest hue, nude. Even a gal with curves can rock them!</p>
<p>Look #3. I<strong><a href="http://www.inspirationall.com/" target="_blank">nspirationAll Talent and Modeling Group&#8217;s</a></strong> Paola is wearing a look from <strong><a href="http://nouvellenouvelle.com/" target="_blank">Nouvelle Nouvelle</a></strong> in Gastown. Love the pleated detailing and crop top. A great look for a night out.</p>
<p>Look #4. Victoria shows us that the mature woman can still wear harems in a head-to-toe look from the <strong><a href="http://www.jcstudio.ca/" target="_blank">Jacqueline Conoir Collection</a></strong> available at JC Studio.</p>

<p style="padding-top:1.4em;">Gone are the days when we Vancouverites would slip on our track jackets, yoga pants and Birkenstocks! Although our city has been renowned for our less-than-trendy fashion choices, Vancouver is growing more stylish by the second. A trip to the city’s burgeoning neighbourhoods of Gastown, Yaletown and Main Street will prove that old stereotype wrong. But don’t fret – weekend attire in Vancouver still remains cool, casual and laid-back. We have simply reserved our sporting gear for, what else? Sports. Whether you are strolling through the park, running errands or brunching with the girls this weekend, think basic pieces, easy-to-wear fabrics, layering and clean shapes.<br />
Check out our top picks for weekend wear in Vancity:
</p>
<p style="padding-top:1.4em;">1.The ideal dress for a weekend in the city is one that can easily transition from day to night. Try the Pezo Dress ($149) with strappy sandals for running errands, or cinched in with a belt and heels for dinner. Noir Bonbon is available at <strong><a href="http://www.bodypolitic.ca/" target="_blank">Body Politic</a></strong>, Life of Riley, Lord’s and <strong><a href="http://www.finefindsboutique.com/" target="_blank">Fine Finds </a></strong>in Vancouver.</p>
<p>2. What better word to describe the perfect look for weekend style than “slubby”? Pick up the <strong><a href="http://nicolebridger.com/product_info.php?cPath=42_47&amp;products_id=264" target="_blank">Perspective Cardigan</a></strong> ($197) from <strong><a href="http://nicolebridger.com/index.php" target="_blank">Nicole Bridger</a></strong>.</p>
<p>3. Weekend wear is all about soft, comfy and wearable fabrics. <strong><a href="http://www.noirbonbon.ca/" target="_blank">Noir Bonbon</a></strong> has a great selection of basics with modern and edgy details in natural eco-friendly fibres. One of my favourites is the Nerd Top ($130) – I love the contrasting silk shoulder detail!</p>
<p>4. The cropped hemline and the lace detailing on the <strong><a href="https://shop.lilyandjae.com/detail.php?catID=4&amp;productID=115&amp;page=1" target="_blank">Belle Bomber</a></strong> ($218) by <strong><a href="http://www.lilyandjae.com/" target="_blank">Lily + Jae</a></strong> are the perfect upgrade from that old hoodie. Available online at the <strong><a href="https://shop.lilyandjae.com/" target="_blank">Lily + Jae Online Shop</a></strong>.</p>
<p>5. Trade in those stretchy yoga bottoms for a great pair of relaxed shorts or pants. My pick is the <strong><a href="http://www.dace.ca/collections/bottoms/products/carel-shorts" target="_blank">Carel Shorts</a></strong> ($140) from<strong><a href="http://www.dace.ca/" target="_blank">Dace</a></strong>. The folded waistband and the rolled hemline give off a casual vibe – perfect for warmer weather! Available at Violet Boutique in Vancouver and online at the <strong><a href="http://www.dace.ca/pages/shop" target="_blank">Dace Online Shop</a></strong>.</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">6. </span><a href="http://www.lightvisionstore.com/shop/dresses-jumpers/boudir-zippered-jumpsuit" target="_blank">The Boudir Zippered Jumpsuit</a></strong> by <strong><a href="http://hiddenspectrum.com/" target="_blank">Hidden Spectrum</a></strong> ($292) is relaxed, casual and cool. The exposed zipper allows you wear it alone or layered on top of a white tank. Available online at <strong><a href="http://www.lightvisionstore.com/" target="_blank">Light Vision Store</a> </strong>and online at <strong><a href="http://hiddenspectrum.bigcartel.com/products" target="_blank">Hidden Spectrum Shop</a></strong>.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Being half French, it&#8217;s no surprise <strong>Chloe Berge</strong>&#8217;s favourite city is Paris and that she&#8217;s fond of fashion. This UBC Art History Graduate and ex <strong><a href="http://www.vitamindaily.com" target="_blank">Vitamin Daily</a></strong> intern also adores art, food, wine, and red velvet cupcakes, and spends her afternoons perusing the VAG and South Granville art galleries or getting her shopping fix on Main Street and West 4, in Gastown and at <strong><a href="http://www.holtrefrew.com" target="_blank">Holts</a><span style="font-weight: normal;"> and</span></strong> <strong><a href="http://www.aritzia.com" target="_blank">Aritzia</a> </strong>to satisfy her denim cravings. On a night out, she frequents her fave restaurants <strong><a href="http://www.hapaizakaya.com" target="_blank">Hapa Izakaya</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.coastrestaurant.ca" target="_blank">Coast</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/vancouver/shangrila/dining/restaurant/market" target="_blank">Market</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://www.glowbalgrill.com" target="_blank">Glowbal</a></strong>, <strong><a href="http://labrasserievancouver.com" target="_blank">La Brasserie</a></strong> (for the truffle oil poutine), <strong><a href="http://www.cielosrestaurant.com" target="_blank">Cielo&#8217;</a></strong><strong><a href="http://www.cielosrestaurant.com" target="_blank">s</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://pearlrestaurant.ca" target="_blank">Pearl</a></strong> on White Rock Beach. Having grown up there, she admits she&#8217;s still a bit of summer beach bum. But don&#8217;t let that fool you as she truly is a girly girl who loves buying herself flowers, treating her toes to pedicures and picking up a great red lipstick or nail polish for instant glamour. If you see her out and about, buy her a glass of champagne. She won&#8217;t say no to a good glass of bubbly.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-1442 aligncenter" title="Val" src="http://christielohr.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Val2.jpg" alt="Val" width="390" height="374" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Valerie Tiu</strong> is a freelance fashion writer and stylist, as well as the marketing and pr gal for local label<a href="http://www.noirbonbon.ca" target="_blank"> </a><strong><a href="http://www.noirbonbon.ca" target="_blank">Noir Bonbon</a></strong>. Gastown is her shopping hot spot, especially <strong><a href="http://www.nouvellenouvelle.com" target="_blank">Nouvelle Nouvelle</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.deluxejunk.com" target="_blank">Deluxe Junk</a></strong>, and her mom&#8217;s closet and Value Village are her go-to&#8217;s for some killer 80&#8217;s and 90&#8217;s pieces. When she&#8217;s not immersed in fashion, she hangs out with her best friends at <strong><a href="http://www.kingyo-izakaya.com" target="_blank">Kingyo Izakaya</a></strong> on Denman, <strong><a href="http://www.trattoriakitchen.ca" target="_blank">Trattoria</a></strong> on 4th or waiting in line for a meal-on-the-fly <strong><a href="http://www.japadog.com" target="_blank">Japa dog</a></strong>. She loves spending an entire day reading books and blogs in bed while listening to pop hits of yesteryear and indulging in dark chocolate with sea salt.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">
<p style="padding-top:1.4em;">Seems I&#8217;ve found two great gals to join my team. Welcome Chloe and Val!</p>
