How to spot me on the beach this summer? I will be rocking some serious earrings in an obnoxious size and loud colour. There is something about sunlight that makes us want to trade in those delicate jewels for the bold, bright and beautiful. Luckily, this season is all about big, colourful accessories to pump up your summer ensemble. The tribal trend is on point right now, so look out for statement pieces with unique shapes, bold textures and pops of colour. These babies are on my shopping list:

1, 2. One of my favourite summer looks is a simple updo with killer earrings. Do a modern take with bold geometric shapes. House of Harlow Gold Tribal Earrings ($57), at The Trend Boutique and Melody Ehsani Aztec Masai Earrings ($126), at Karmaloop.

3,4. Be the talk of the town with a statement necklace. Just be sure to pull out all the stops with some bright colour. Melody Ehsani Aztec Masai Necklace ($104), at Karmaloop and Kenneth Jay Lane Necklace ($80), at Net-A-Porter.

5, 6. Experiment with textures if you are rocking a tribal-inspired bracelet. Coloured stones and vintage finishes add a classic and unique touch. House of Harlow Tribal Cuff ($220), at Revolve Clothing and Aldo Bracelet ($15).

Now that Spring has officially arrived it’s time to shed our heavy coats and sweaters in favour of lighter threads. As wool coats are replaced by trenches, jeans by capris, and boots by sandals, it only makes sense that our jewellery should follow suit and lighten up too. Chunky, transparent lucite and crystal baubles are popping up everywhere lately. Accessory reports have made it clear (literally): translucent jewellery has arrived in a big way for Spring. The accessory-challenged needn’t worry any longer; these statement pieces go with everything and transition easily from day to night. Although clear jewelry is a hot trend at the moment, it’s wearable year-round, so you won’t be investing in a trendy piece with a short shelf life. Lightweight, fresh, and modern, these designs will have you in a Spring state of mind in no time (along with a good mani-pedi, of course). Take a cue from these icy accents, and you’ll be looking cool well into Summer.
