Embrace winter this season with outdoor ice skating. If you’re lucky enough to live on the east coast, rinks typically open up around late November or early December, so be sure to fight the frost and show off your twirls without compromising your style. The Do’s and Don’ts of Fall and Winter Fashion

It’s easy to be super stylish this fall and winter by keeping in mind these very simple “dos and don’ts”. Starting off, leave the UGGs and their look-a-likes at home; they’re not waterproof and impossible to keep clean coming into winter. Instead, look for a sexy leather knee-high or ankle boot, which you can pair with any fall/winter outfit. Next, save the parkas and sweatpants for super cold days. Seeing these items in the fall and early winter with leaves on the ground is just silly; you need to save those jackets and sweats for snowstorms and zero degree Celsius weather. Instead, pick up a patterned cocoon coat and a great pair of jeggings. These comfy and warm alternatives can give you that fashionable oomph that can make for a stunning look. One more very important fashion “don’t”? Those animal-head winter hats. These are reserved for the wee ones under five years of age. Ladies, we can do better with a slouchy wool beanie. On June 30, the TIFF Bell Lightbox kicks off the exhibition Fellini: Spectacular Obsessions. It’s been a long time coming, but the weather is finally beginning to show some signs of warmth. Though these sporadic little bursts of sunshine are intermixed with plenty of grey skies and rain, it does feel like summer is finally on the horizon.

Many of you are undoubtedly making getaways to sunny destinations to kick-start this return to summer. Though vacation-dressing can be pretty simple in theory (summer dress + sandals + sunglasses and you’re usually done), there’s no reason why you can’t up the ante and add a fashionable edge to your look either! Whether that means playing with bold stripes or throwing in some chic accessories to tie the whole look together, we’ve got you covered with inspiration from the following two summer looks:

Hollywood actress, model, and Chanel muse Diane Kruger is photographed here in St. Tropez last year at a Karl Lagerfeld-hosted bocce tournament. Though she’s still comfortable and entirely warm-weather appropriate, Diane manages to look exceptionally chic by paying attention to the little details in her outfit. Tying your braid or ponytail with a simple ribbon (which can be found for next to nothing at any fabric store) gives your look a retro-inspired, coquettish vibe.
