No, it wasn’t a night of fashion, it was a night of inspiration. I had the opportunity to attend David Suzuki’s Legacy Lecture at the Chan Centre in UBC Thursday night. It was based on…’If I had one last lecture to give, what would I say?’
Following the lecture was a wrap party at the Museum of Anthropology where Canadian rapper k-os was spinning hot tracks. This intimate celebration with Dr. Suzuki was a night of mingling, indulging in finger treats and wine, and performances from Sarah McLachlan and Randy Bachman (who sang ‘taking care of business’). I’ve always loved Sarah. Having her perform on a small stage, literally right in front of me, made it seem like we were all at a house party and she was giving a private concert. The night was amazing!
Le Chateau is proud to be involved with the David Suzuki Foundation. Since September 2008, they’ve teamed up with the foundation to design eco-chic bags sold for $1 exclusively at Le Chateau. From the proceeds, they recently presented them with a $30,000 donation, building on the $18,000 donation given on January 28th, 2009. So great to see a fashion retailer give back.
