If you’re lucky enough to be a Vancouverite, transitioning into spring is simple.  With our sparse winter season, it only seems natural that we should be trading our toques for tanks. Regardless of where you live, there are a few simple fashion fixes to consider for in between the seasons.

1. Store away the puffy winter jackets and pick up a topper in a lightweight, yet rainy day friendly material. Try the Banana Republic Classic Trench Coat ($198 USD).

Being half French, it’s no surprise Chloe Berge’s favourite city is Paris and that she’s fond of fashion. This UBC Art History Graduate and ex Vitamin Daily intern also adores art, food, wine, and red velvet cupcakes, and spends her afternoons perusing the VAG and South Granville art galleries or getting her shopping fix on Main Street and West 4, in Gastown and at Holts and Aritzia to satisfy her denim cravings. On a night out, she frequents her fave restaurants Hapa Izakaya, Coast, Market, Glowbal, La Brasserie (for the truffle oil poutine), Cielo’s and Pearl on White Rock Beach. Having grown up there, she admits she’s still a bit of summer beach bum. But don’t let that fool you as she truly is a girly girl who loves buying herself flowers, treating her toes to pedicures and picking up a great red lipstick or nail polish for instant glamour. If you see her out and about, buy her a glass of champagne. She won’t say no to a good glass of bubbly.

Valerie Tiu is a freelance fashion writer and stylist, as well as the marketing and pr gal for local label Noir Bonbon. Gastown is her shopping hot spot, especially Nouvelle Nouvelle and Deluxe Junk, and her mom’s closet and Value Village are her go-to’s for some killer 80’s and 90’s pieces. It’s been over 2 years since Pamela Masik performed a live show in Canada, but the wait was well worth it. Known for her recent project The Forgotten, a tribute to the women who disappeared from the Downtown Eastside, this Vancouver based artist splattered paint on a large canvas for a crowd of artsy tastemakers, sipping Sumac Ridge wines,  in a head-to-toe patent leather outfit. Her large studio was packed with eye treats and some standouts included these stylish guys, the seven foot humanster walking the wheel and Masik’s newest collection, Caged Bird.

Pamela’s planning on doing monthly performances at Masik Studio on West 2nd, so stay tuned. You don’t want to miss out!

Jenn Heil is a women of many talents. Having won a silver medal in freestyle moguls last week, she’s also designed an exclusive collection for Birks, the official supplier of jewellery to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
