In honour of Cupid’s holiday we’ re looking at the couples who always look fabulous together on the red carpet. While out with your SO, the key is not to dress alike (see Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears at the 2001 American Music Awards), but to complement each other. Armie Hammer and his wife, journalist Elizabeth Chambers, are newcomers to the red carpet thanks to Hammer’s double role in The Social Network, but they know how to dress to the nines. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stick to what they know, sporting dark suits and simple, monochromatic gowns. Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan are such a cute red carpet couple because Downey’s quirky sartorial choices means he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale never fail to impress with their edgy style, and David and Victoria Beckham both like to takes risks with what they wear.

The more casual red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival showcases celebrities’ personal style, and no one looked as effortlessly chic as Marion Cotillard. At the premiere for her film “Little White Lies” she added the right amount of edge to a simple frock by Lefranc Ferrant with Dior Cavaliere booties, a gold cuff, and bright blue nails.

To achieve Marion’s je ne sais quoi, you can splurge for the real thing, or try these other military-inspired ankle boots.

1. Browns ID booties ($248), available at Browns.

2. Olita booties by Boutique 9 ($230), available at Nine West.

3. TYMS peep-toe booties ($140), available at Aldo.

The red carpet was packed with treats for the eye this past Saturday. Knockouts at the top of my list included Emmanuelle Vaugier from Two and a Half Men and CSI: NY in a long blue floral maxi from Blushing Designs, Battlestar Galactica’s Keenan Connor Tracy in a red one-sleeve with silver belt and Ona Grauer from the series Stargate SG-1 wearing the classic black suit updated with the boyfriend blazer and red accessories.

Steve Nash

Just goes to show you can still look fab and like sports at the same time. Lovin’ Steve Nash’s check top under his navy cardigan. I attended the Steve Nash post party at Pop Opera this past Saturday night. All proceeds from the evening went to the Steve Nash Foundation’s BC Grants platform, funding child-focused direct service organizations throughout the province.

It's Terri Clark! She says she doesn't have style...not bad!

I must admit, country music isn’t what I groove to while getting ready on a Saturday night, but I do adore cowboys and cowboy boots. I attended the CCMA (Canadian Country Music Awards) post party last Sunday and here are the country starlets who rocked the red carpet in style.
