about

It all started when I grew up in small town Port Hardy, BC. Shopping trips to the closest ‘biggest’ cities, Nanaimo and Victoria, were done only two or three times a year. Port Hardy was anything but trendy, and it’s only stores were SAAN and Bargain Bargain, so I had to be more creative with what I had. I went through my dad’s closet and pulled out his ripped work jeans, big tractor belt buckles, and vintage tees. Fashion became a love of mine even when camping and fishing were the thing to do.
When I moved to the Lower Mainland in 95′, I quickly became even more in love with style, as it was more accessible. I went to Kwantlen Polytechnic University after I graduated high school and took Fashion Marketing. After that, I took Broadcast Journalism at BCIT. I managed Le Chateau on Robson, went to Montreal to work as a menswear buyer, did a short internship at MTV Canada years ago, and at FASHION magazine where I really learned about the biz of writing (and I’m in no way deeming myself as a top notch writer…I’m learning everyday).
Having been a fashion writer for the past year and most recently a regular “fashion expert” on City TV, I’ve been fortunate to attend some of Vancouver’s best fashion and media events.
Get the inside scoop on the hottest fashion events around the city, where to eat, what to sip and the latest and greatest in up-to-the-minute trends. Check out my Style Journal christielohr.com. It’s all you need to know when it comes to living & looking fab.
