Wear Else for Runway Trends

Flare's Lisa Tant and Christie Lohr

Once September 1st hit, the weather got cooler, the sun went down earlier and I retired my fans to my storage locker. It’s fall and it’s time to replace your summer tanks, dresses and glads with jeggings, leather panel or studded leggings, over the knee boots, a blazer with shoulder pads and a vibrant coloured coat. These were some of the pieces Flare’s Editor in Chief Lisa Tant mentioned in her fall trend presentation at last week’s Wear Else fall fashion show in Park Royal. Besides getting the 411 on what’s new this season on the runways and at Wear Else, I also snapped a few pics of truly trendy gals and fabulous goodies and got the inside scoop from Lisa herself.
Top three fall wardrobe must haves…a tailored jacket with dominant shoulders, a printed shift dress or skirt and a cropped leather jacket.
Your next purchase...all of the above!
A summer piece that can transition well into fall…a printed shift dress.
Why we should embrace the shoulder pad and not be afraid…because most women actually look better with a shoulder pad in their jacket. If you’re alittle round-shouldered or hippy, it balances your figure and looks very flattering.
Is there a repeat trend we are seeing roll over into fall…many classics are back for fall – black leggings, leather jackets and statement necklaces.
Wine you’re loving…I’m not a big drinker. I live off Starbucks lattes and Diet Pepsi! I love a French martini every once in a while.
Favourite places to eat when visiting Vancouver…Vancouver has some of the best restaurants in Canada. During my last visit, I dined at Market by Jean-Georges and Coast. I love seafood so both of these were exceptional.
